Robot Party at Weaver

Robot Party at Weaver

Come hang out with Dash and Botley! You will get to use the library's new tablets and apps to control Dash and drive it around, and learn to code Botley with its easy-to-use remote programmer that transmits your commands and sends him rolling. What tricks can you make them do?

Dash robot, its suite of apps, and its Make Wonder platform encourage play and learning to make creative problem-solving concrete and tangible. Dash is smart enough to respond to voices and sounds and Dash can dance and sing, which makes for a fun and interactive learning experience for kids. Dash will help kids learn, laugh, and grow.

Botley helps your child learn early STEM skills while playing and having fun. He teaches kids to code with active, screen-free play that's perfect for promoting critical thinking and problem solving skills. Botley has the ability to detect objects in front of him and avoid them. He can also follow looping commands, take on obstacle courses, and follow black-line paths.

The statewide Rhode Island Summer Reading Program is supported by the RI Office of Library and Information Services, with funds from the Institute of Museum and Library Services.
